6 Fun Airfryer Recipes Kids Can Make

May 29, 2016 1 Comments A+ a-

School's out and the holidays are finally here! Instead of merely signing up the kids for art camps or enrichment classes, why not do some fun and safe cooking together with them?

For those who worry about exposing the kids to the stove, the airfryer is a good alternative. It cooks using hot air, so no gas or open flames are involved. While common food you can cook with the airfryer include French fries or chicken nuggets, let's up the game. Do something the kids can brag about when school re-opens.

Below are 6 of our fun recipes that kids can make using the airfryer, arranged in ascending order of difficulty. Have fun!

1) 3-Ingredient Butter Cookies

This is one of our most popular recipes and it needs no explanation why. It is a fool-proof cookie recipe suitable for all beginners. With just those 3 ingredients (and some creativity), you are sure to have an afternoon of fun with the kids. Btw, these cookies are also so rich and buttery, simply everyone's favourite!

2) Chocolate Muffins / Cupcakes with Walnuts

Whose first muffins were baked using Betty Crocker's? We are not ashamed of it either. But add some crunchy walnuts, and no one will know that they were made out of the premix pack. It's going to be a lot less messier too!

3) Pork Floss Rolls

No one said that pork floss rolls can only be eaten during Chinese New Year. The airfryer makes these even quicker and easier, so let's start rolling away!

4) Scrambled Eggs

Eggs are a rich source of protein and one of the most nutritious food around. It is also a cheap ingredient for those kitchen experiments!

5) Baked Salmon Pasta in Tomato Rosemary Sauce

Let the kids do a real dinner meal and give Papa a surprise when he's back! The salmon, rich in Omega-3, makes this a really healthy dish for the family too.

6) Carrot Cake

For kids who have done some baking/ cooking before, this will be more exciting. Gather some carrots  and walnuts, and bake this moist easy-to-do carrot cake!
